Slayer Album Available on July 7th

According to KNAC, Columbia Records has confirmed July 7th as the release date for the new Slayer album.

Slayer released the first new track of their forthcoming album titled Psycopathy Red on April 18th for Record Store Day (pictured right). According to Slayer.net, the single was inspired by the grim tale of epic Russian serial murderer Andrei Chikatilo (aka the Rustov Ripper). The blood-red vinyl 7-inch disc—enclosed in a Russian police "evidence envelope"—was limited to 5,000 copies worldwide and is the band's first new music since 2006's Christ Illusion.

The yet to be titled album has all of the original and best Slayer line up (bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King, and drummer Dave Lombardo) who are busy recording it now in Los Angeles, CA.

Slayer are co-headlining the Mayhem Festival with Marilyn Manson starting July 10, and Neutronium Core will be there and will deliver a report of the show.
